Hello! I am an award-winning radio producer, journalist, and presenter with over a decade of experience at the BBC, specializing in factual radio with a focus on science storytelling for the BBC World Service and BBC Radio 4. Currently, I am the Series Producer for the BBC Studios science comedy show ‘The Infinite Monkey Cage’ and am developing a new podcast series, ‘A Question of Science,’ for the Francis Crick Institute.

I thrive on making complex science stories accessible to a broad audience, fostering engagement with some of the most pressing scientific issues of our time. My past stories have explored topics such as brain-computer interfaces, China's scientific development and its geopolitical implications, wildfires in Oregon, AI in warfare, underwater noise pollution, memory loss, the future of toilets, and gene editing.

I have reported from diverse locations around the world, including Mayan temples, rainforests, Afghan boxing gyms, fire labs, and hop vineyards.

In 2022-2023, I was honoured to undertake a Fulbright Fellowship supported by the Rita Allen Foundation, where I served as the Civic Science Storytelling Fellow at the University of Oregon’s Center for Science Communication Research. During this time, I developed a first of its kind ‘Civic Science Storytelling’ course for science and journalism students. I also reported on regional wildfires and collaborated with a regional Spanish-language station to create science radio content in Spanish with students. I am interested in continuing to offer storytelling training to scientists and journalists.

I regularly participate in talks and debates that consider the role of civic science journalism and storytelling. From the British Library to Stellenbosch University, I am excited to be part of a movement that aims to make science more responsive to the needs of society and enhance the dialogue between science and society. I am interested in opportunities to continue this work be that through training or public speaking.

Alongside audio production I am a keen photographer with experience ranging from photographing King Charles and well know faces of entertainment at the BBC through to rural development projects and women’s boxing in Afghanistan and the UK.

Before retraining as a journalist in 2012,I cut my teeth meeting communities in rural Afghanistan and sharing their stories to increase awareness around the challenges they faced. This experience helped me foster a people centred storytelling approach to convey nuanced understandings of development projects in complicated settings.
